BackgroundShep is an intact tricolor male, born October 2008 and evaluated at 2 years of age. He has been working beef cattle and poultry (geese) regularly on his owner's farm since he was a pup.

Shep is an extremely responsive dog, always mindful of where his owner is and ready to follow instructions. He has come when called (every time!) since he was 6 weeks old and checks in regularly when working to make sure he is on track. His owners never need a leash to keep him close by! Everyone (including the vet!) that meets Shep is impressed with his beauty, brains and temperament.

Shep started showing interest in work when he was 7 weeks old. That interest has blossomed so that now he will become jealous if other dogs are getting in on the job -- Shep prefers to work alone. He is becoming more powerful and assertive with stock as he matures.
