BackgroundHaylie is a tricolor female born in September 2004 and evaluated at 6 years of age. She was brought up and lives on a small homestead, with daily access to livestock of widely varied types including cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, ducks and other poultry.

Haylie is always on the job, always concerned that she is doing the right thing. Sweet and sensitive, she is a best friend and helper. She is a joy to work with and a delightful addition to her owner's household. She is exceptional at jobs that require finesse. For example, she once retrieved a 3 week old blind turkey poult from 30 feet under the deck, gently nudging it toward the opening until her owner could reach it. She also has the ability to use force when necessary, as when driving swine, or moving a reluctant lead ewe or a ram . She can be a bit hesitant to push the female goats, but has no trouble with the bucks
